Lawyer Fined For Revealing JK Rowling As the Secret Author of 'The Cuckoo's Calling'

 The lawyer who outed JK Rowling as the author of 'The Cuckoo's Calling' had already been sued by the 'Harry Potter' author, but now he has been fined by a much bigger authority.

JK Rowling wasn't kidding around when she vented her frustration over being outed as the writer of The Cuckoo's Calling last year. The book was written under a pseudonym, and it turns out it was a lawyer who revealed the Harry Potter author as the true writer.

According to the BBC, lawyer Chris Gossage was the leak in the case. He reportedly told his wife's best friend about Rowling's connection, and has since been fined by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

Gossage faced much bigger problems though. Rowling also took legal action against Gossage and a friend for revealing the information via Twitter to a journalist, but later accepted an apology and charity donation.

The £1,000 fine (or a little more than $1,600) from the SRA was for breaching privacy rules, "by disclosing confidential information about a client to a third party."

The SRA continued, by saying that Gossage should "act in the best interests of each client" and "behave in a way that maintains the trust the public places in you and in the provision of legal services".

Rowling was upset that that the company had breached her privacy in such a way.
"I feel very angry that my trust turned out to be misplaced," she said back in July. "To say that I am disappointed is an understatement."

The Cuckoo's Calling, by Rowling's pen name Robert Galbraith, has climbed in popularity since the true author was revealed.


"To those who have asked for a sequel, Robert fully intends to keep writing the series," Rowling said, "although he will probably continue to turn down personal appearances."

Chelsea Handler is no stranger to showing off her body, and she’s done it yet again in another Twitter upload. She revealed that she injured herself while skiing, tweeting, “Another day of skiing, and whoopsie. I get it, it’s Chelsea Handler. Nothing she does really makes that much sense, and we’re supposed to take it all in stride. But really, she knew what she was doing right? There’s no way that she was trying to show off her medical stocking and didn’t realize that she was also flashing everyone? No, she totally knew what she was doing.

Why did she do it? That, I can’t answer. One option is that she just doesn’t care. Why would she? She’s gone starkers naked for sillier reasons before, and she’ll probably do it again. Another option is for the publicity. It’s been a while since she was in the news, and she might have thought that posting this pic online would get her some much-needed publicity. If that’s the case, mission accomplished, I guess.

Hrithik Roshan's Big LA Secret Revealed!

The last few weeks in Hrithik Roshan's life have been full of twists and turns.

The actor made a public statement announcing the end of his marriage and this led a series of speculations on what exactly went wrong between Sussanne and him.

While all this was happening, Hrithik chose to stay away from the spotlight, and was in LA for some much-needed rest post Krrish 3. It also gave him a chance to allow the shock among his fans post the news of his split with Sussanne to settle down.

And while the status of his relationship with Sussanne has surely taken a toll on his peace of mind; when Roshan landed in Mumbai a few days back, he looked fitter than ever before.

Reportedly when Hrithik Roshan flew to LA a few weeks back, he even took his trainer along with him.

Post his brain surgery in July, Hrithik had been advised to stay away from intense workouts. At the same time he was also busy with the 24x7 promotions of Krrish 3, due to which his body was slowly becoming out of shape.

So in this short break before resuming the shoot of Bang Bang, Hrithik and his trainer chalked out a new workout and diet plan to help the actor return to his Greek-God physique.

Hrithik set out to get himself a lean look, vital for Bang Bang.

So Hrithik signed up with one of LA’s best gyms and his workout included cardio and resistance training followed by weight and treadmill runs. 

"His diet was high on nutrients and low on calories. His morning began with egg whites and a protein shake. He lunched on salad, a few potatoes and 200 gm fish. Dinner was salad again with 150 gm chicken," said a source to Mumbai Mirror.

Now that he is back - The routine continues in Mumbai too and the actor works out for two hours everyday at his Juhu home.

Coca Cola is expected to pay Padukone a little less than Rs.4 crore annually. In Coca-Cola's campaign, Padukone will be seen pairing up with actor Farhan Akhtar. They will be pitted against Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor who endorse Pepsi.

Aishwarya Rai was the previous top woman celebrity associated with Coca-Cola, endorsing the brand for about six years ending 2005. The brand Coca Cola which continues to lag behind Pepsi and Sprite will definitely get a boost in sales figure.

 The adorable duo was spotted watching a wrestling match on Saturday, Dec. 21 in Iowa City. The home team was facing Penn State and fans at the venue added pictures of the A-list couple on Twitter.

The 35-year-old actor showed his team pride by wearing school gear because after all, the Two and a Half Men star was a student at the University before pursuing his modeling and acting career.

The brunette beauty looked casual for the sporting match, choosing a dark gray sweater and blue jeans for their date night.

Adele Receives British Order For Excellence By Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace

London -  Adele has received an MBE at Buckingham Palace on Thursday.

The Someone Like You hitmaker was handed the award by the Prince of Wales after being named in the Queen's Birthday Honours list for her services to the music industry.

The 25-year-old singer now has the title Miss Adele Adkins MBE, which stands for member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.

She released a statement after the ceremony, saying: "It was an honour to be recognised and a very proud moment to be awarded alongside such wonderful and inspirational people. Very posh indeed."

Adele has achieved huge success over the past two years with the release of her second album 21, which topped the charts in more than 30 countries and was number one in the UK for 23 weeks, selling more than seven million copies in the country.
It was then certified diamond after 24 weeks at the top spot in the US.

The blonde beauty is now a global pop superstar and also won an Academy Award in February for her James Bond theme song Skyfall.

She is rumoured to be planning the release of her third studio album sometime next year but has been busy being a mum after giving birth to her son Angelo with partner Simon Konecki in October last year.

Singer-songwriter PJ Harvey, broadcaster Aled Jones and author Joanne Harris also received MBEs, while broadcaster Claire Balding was honoured with an OBE. 

Bigg Boss 7: FIR Against Salman Khan For 'Insulting Muslim Sentiment'

An FIR or police complaint has reportedly been registered against Bollywood actor and Bigg Boss 7 host Salman Khan and the management of Colours television for allegedly insulting Muslim sentiment on the popular show.

The reality show has been mired in controversy for several weeks. Earlier this week, contestant Armaan Kohli was arrested for allegedly assaulting British singer-actress Sofia Hayat inside the Bigg Boss house. He was allowed to return to the house after completing legal formalities, in a highly-criticised move by the show producers.

The show, hosted by Salman Khan for the past three seasons, throws together celebrities in a secluded house with over 80 well-placed cameras monitoring their every move. Season 7 of the show went on air on Colors on September 15.

Dhoom 3 IMAX Tickets To Cost Rs 900?

As 'Dhoom 3' readies to make its stylised entry at the Indian box office Friday, it seems that it will not just impact audiences visually but financially as well.

The IMAX screens have set their prices at Rs.400-600 for the morning shows and Rs.700-900 for the night shows, according to their official website.

For a family of five, watching "Dhoom 3" could thus mean an expenditure of Rs.4, 500, sans any coke and popcorn!

The prices might seem extravagant and uneconomical for a middle class family but advance booking status on the website shows that the seats are filling up fast and have even been sold out at places.

This might be the status for IMAX screens but others are keeping the ticket price affordable. The cost of tickets in multiplexes ranges between Rs.300-Rs.400.

The prices in New Delhi seem to be lesser than those in Mumbai and range between Rs.200-Rs.250, with the exception of a few theatres where the prices have gone upto Rs.500.

Smaller cities like Chandigarh and Jaipur fall in the average price range of Rs.150-Rs.400. However, there are also places like the Gaiety Galaxy theatre in Bandra here where you can enjoy Aamir Khan's grey character in the action thriller at reasonable rates.

"All the theatres might have been taking advantage of the release of 'Dhoom 3', but we at Gaiety Galaxy have made it a point to not increase the rate. Our ticket prices remain consistent at Rs.70-Rs.90," said Manoj Desai of Gaiety Galaxy.

Desai added that the weekend is already pre-booked and he is expecting an identical pattern in the following week as well.

Produced under the Yash Raj Films (YRF) banner and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, the film boasts of a starry cast with Aamir in a new avatar - he will be seen as a gymnast.

Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra will reprise their roles of Jai Dixit and Ali from the last two "Dhoom" movies and Katrina Kaif will enhances the glamour quotient as the female lead in the movie, which will be Bollywood's first film to be released in the IMAX format, a specialised film format.

The 2D film is already being appreciated for the stunts featured in the trailer and especially the bike scenes featuring Aamir.

Trade analyst Amod Mehra predicts that the film will surpass the collections of previous blockbusters.

"Reality check .. Mark my words ... 'Dhoom 3' will cross Rs.100 crore in the first three days and it will also cross Rs.200 crore in the first seven days," Mehra said in post on Twitter Wednesday.

Raising the bar of pre-release promotions, the makers have also come up with innovative advertisements with tag lines reading - "It's Dhoom day ... Are you bunking college today".

Not only is the film expected to flourish in India, it will also see a release in Pakistan.

'Highway' Trailer Release Event — Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda Glimpse Together

Imtiaz Ali's next film "Highway", a relationship film on the roads, comes across as a visual delight with rustic paths, snow-clad mountains and desert. The cast of the film came together to launch the trailer of the film.

With reports of some steamy scenes between Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda in the film, Alia fielded a lot of questions denying that such scenes existed at all.And everyone was pleasantly surprised to see AR Rahman walk in for the trailer launch. Guess the curious souls will now have to wait and watch the film for themselves to know for sure! The movie is a road journey traversing six states of north India and it features actors Alia and Randeep Hooda in the lead role. Alia's look is diametrically different from what audiences saw her in her debut film "Student Of The Year".

 Alia Bhatt says she was confused when director Imtiaz Ali first approached her for his upcoming film Highway. The romantic drama, helmed by Ali, is Alia's second film after Student of The Year, which hit the theatres in 2012.

 "I was a bit confused when Imtiaz came with the offer. At the same time I was overwhelmed that he came up with a challenging film and role," said Alia.

 The 20-year-old said she is nervous about how the audience will receive the film, which releases on February 21. The film has been shot in six states of North India and it captures the landscape of different regions.

"I am nervous and will remain so till the film releases. It keeps me on my toes. Working on the film was an amazing experience and I enjoyed this journey a lot."

"I learnt a lot while working with Randeep. He spoke about motivation and following your thoughts," Alia said.

Robert Pattinson To Play Peter O'Toole's Most Famous Role of Lawrence of Arabia

When a new movie based on British adventurer T.E. Lawrence was announced last year eyebrows were raised as Robert Pattinson was cast to take on the role of Lawrence, 60 years after Peter O'Toole played the role in David Lean's iconic Lawrence of Arabia.

The 1962 epic earned O'Toole his first of eight Academy Award nominations and is widely regarded as one of the most acclaimed movies and performances from O'Toole and co-star Omar Sharif, in movie history.

Directed by art house icon Werner Herzog, the movie co-stars Nicole Kidman as writer/explorer Gertrude Bell and is said to focus on her relationship with Lawrence, rather than a straight remake of the 1960s classic.

Sadly, O'Toole passed away before he could see Pattinson tackling his iconic role. It was confirmed last night, December 15, the actor has died age 81 after a prolonged illness, at a London hospital.

Before his death he had commented on the decision to bring the British Army officer back to the big screen, admitting it was almost inevitable a re-make would be made.

“Well, they were bound to get around to it sooner or later,” he told The Telegraph last August, but insisted it wouldn't be a patch on the original.

“Well, of course it won’t," he laughed when asked about the new version.

 And what of Pattinson taking on his iconic character? Despite being one of the most famous people on the planet, O'Toole was completely unaware of Pattinson-mania.

"Who?" he reportedly asked after a long pause.

While Rob might not have the same acclaim as the eight times nominated actor, the London born star at 27, is three years younger than O'Toole when he took on the role age 30.

So could the magic it worked for the Irish born, Leeds lad also help Rob leave behind his past as a teenage heart-throb?

Filming on the movie is set to begin next year, but with the passing of the acting legend, will it over shadow or enhance Pattinson's performance. For a star who is making shrewd career decisions, working with acclaimed directors such as David Cronenberg and avoiding blockbuster, the role could prove to be as important as it was for O'Toole in 1962.

Katy Perry showed the contestants just how to put on a show when she performed on The Voice of Germany on Friday. The Fireworks singer belted out her new hit Unconditionally while wearing a very frilly dress complete with LED lights. Her show-stopping look made sure she was the center of attention during the atmospheric, white-themed performance.

The 29-year-old's dress lit-up as she paraded around on stage while her troupe of dancers cut a ghostly figure behind. The number resembled a voluminous bridal gown, complete with flared skirt, however the star's slim pins could be seen due to the dipped-hem design.

She finished off her look in equally glitzy style with a pair of sparkly, silver heels, while her hair was styled in loose waves.

 The wedding theme continued with a matching, floral garland, which contrasted perfectly against Katy's black locks. The set mirrored the song's video which sees the US star sing in a white lace dress as snow falls around her.

She later changed into a sexy tartan miniskirt and skimpy black top, as she sang on top of a perspex box as male dances writhed around inside.

 Her bra could be seen underneath, while a quilted red handbag sat on front of her skirt as she danced alongside her scantily-clad performers. The star's hair was also adjusted to match her new alter-ego, which was given a messy, deadlocked feel.

Her transformation was completed with a black choker, biker-style boots and a pair of dangle earrings.

Superstar Ranbir Kapoor Snatches Video Camera of A Media Person

"There is a phrase in English called mind your own business." Wise words by an irked Ranbir Kapoor when a member of the media had asked him about what Katrina Kaif had gifted him on his 31st birthday. This was a while ago since Ranbir's birthday was on September 28. Ranbir was a lot more civil then since he was promoting his film Besharam at the time. 

That was then. Yesterday night, between 2.30 am to 2.50 am, an irritated and perhaps slightly tipsy Ranbir Kapoor forcibly took away the camera of a TV channel who was trying to follow him around and put it in his car. He refused to return the camera and angrily told the cameraman and the reporter to ask his bosses to call him and take back the camera then.

 All this happened just a few meters way from Ranbir's home Krishna Bungalow at Pali Hill. According to an eyewitness Ranbir used foul language to express his anger at being followed around by the paparazzi so late in the night.

 A few hours ago Ranbir was at Olive restaurant in Khar, famously frequented by Bollywood celebs and other high profile individuals. His director friend Ayan Mukerji and film producer Manmohan Shetty's younger daughter Aarti Shetty was also accompanying him.

 Since Ranbir had already got wind of the waiting photographers at rear gate of the restaurant, he hoodwinked all of them and got into a rickshaw from the main gate and drove to his residence Pali Hill. According to an onlooker, after leaving the rickshaw Ranbir got inside his bungalow but continued to stand on the road outside his bungalow. Ayan drove down Ranbir's Mercedes to his bungalow, which is when Ranbir got into his car. The actor then challenged the trailing photographers, "Aa jao, ab peecha karo!" and then sped of.

According to a last eyewitness, he did not return home till 4 am. There was another lady in the car with them. That it was not Katrina is sure.

The question arises: what was Ranbir trying to hide. Was it the fact that he was sporting a light goatee? Is that the new look for his forthcoming film? He also used his cap to cover as much possible of his head and hair. Is there a new hairstyle underneath he is trying to conceal?
