Salman Khan's Hit-And-Run Case: Charges To Be Framed On July 24!

Salman Khan was today directed by a Mumbai sessions court to appear before it on July 24 for framing of charges, setting the stage for start of a fresh trial for culpable homicide in the 2002 hit-and-run case for which he can face a jail term upto 10 years.

Sessions judge U B Hejib had on June 24 upheld a metropolitan court's order that the offence of culpable homicide not amounting to murder was made out against the 47-year-old Bollywood superstar, dismissed his appeal against the verdict, and asked him to appear before the court today.

The actor had earlier been tried by a metropolitan magistrate for a lesser offence of causing death by negligence (Section 304 A of IPC), which provides for a maximum sentence of two years. He will now stand trial under a law pertaining to culpable homicide that could attract a jail term upto ten years.

Attired in a blue shirt and pair of jeans, the actor appeared before the sessions judge who asked him to sit in the dock. Salman sat alone on a bench, while his sister Arpita stood beside him outside the dock. His other sister, Alvira, was also present in the court room along with his personal bodyguard.

The trial in the sessions court would start afresh as the Bandra metropolitan court had halted the proceedings midway after examining 17 witnesses, ruling that the more serious charge of culpable homicide was made out against the actor. An offence under the charge of culpable homicide is triable by a sessions court.

Salman was occasionally seen dozing off as Arpita prodded him to keep him awake.
Outside the court there was a commotion as litigants and advocates were prevented by police from entering the room. On one occasion, the judge asked his staff to go out and tell the people gathered there not to make noise.

In a related development, the judge reserved till July 24 his order on two applications-- one moved by activist Santosh Daundkar, seeking to intervene in the trial, and another by the actor's counsel for restraining the media from maligning the actor.

Salim Khan Says; Salman Is a Great Men!

Salim Khan is an Indian actor and screenwriter. In Hindi cinema, Khan is best known for being one half of the prolific screenwriting duo of Salim-Javed. Recently he said about her son and bollywood hot actor Salman Khan

For some time now, news reports have been insinuating that Salman Khan has found himself a new love interest. The star and his ‘friend’, Romanian actor, Lulia Vantur, were apparently even spotted at the Hyderabad airport a few days ago.

While the actor remained unavailable for a comment, we asked his father, Salim Khan, whether the news was indeed true. However, the veteran writer and protective dad remained evasive about the details of his son’s love life. “He is a grown man,” says Khan, adding, “I don’t interfere in his personal life. It’s his choice and I don’t want to get into it (sic).”

Salman, who is shooting for Mental in Hyderabad, tried his best to maintain a safe distance from Lulia while stepping out of the domestic airport in the city. Apparently, the actor’s bodyguards led her to board a separate car. She was driven to the hotel, while Salman left for the shooting location. The above-mentioned report also claimed that during Lulia’s trip to Mumbai, she had stayed with Salman’s parents.

Sana Khan Gets Out On Bail, Starts Shooting For Salman Khan’s Mental!

Sana Khan Gets Out On Bail

Sana Khan has finally got a breather. Her anticipatory bail application has been accepted. The actress, set to make her Hindi film debut in the Salman Khan starrer 'Mental', is charged with attempted abduction' of a 15-year-old girl.

For most actors, a debut film is a very special time, one when they cannot afford to lose focus lest they give anything but their best. Bigg Boss 6 contestant Sana Khan has learned this lesson the hard way, as the actor became embroiled in an alleged kidnapping case just as she was about to start shooting for her first film, Mental alongside Salman Khan.

Sana, who was charged with the attempted abduction of a 15 year old girl who had rejected Sana’s cousin Naved’s marriage proposal, was granted anticipatory bail so that she could resume shooting for the film. In an interview to a local paper Sana was seething after the ordeal and blamed the girl’s family for trying to get media exposure. “Am I mad to try and abduct somebody? Getting a 15-year-old married could give me life imprisonment! Nobody in my family has had a love marriage till date, forget eloping. I have got such a great opportunity to kick-start my career in Bollywood with a film starring Salman Khan. Am I stupid to throw it all for such a thing?” demanded Sana, mirroring our thoughts.

She also denied media reports that she was on the run after a case was filed against her last month. The actor rubbished the reports with, “I had disconnected my phone for few days around that time. Too many people were calling up and had no intention to talk about this to every Tom, Dick and Harry. If I wanted to speak, I knew whom to call.” Sana’s absence from the sets of Mental delayed the shoot for a while, but things are now on track. Director Sohail Khan has said that the starlet’s role in the film is a secondary one, but important nonetheless.

We ask Sana to take care now that she is under the spotlight, considering the fact that the pretty Bigg Boss contestant has been involved in a number of controversies already. You don’t want to be known as the Rakhi Sawant of the silver screen now, right, Sana?
