Lady Gaga's 'X Factor' Performance Did Not Break Broadcasting Rules

Lady Gaga’s racy performance on 'The X Factor' will not be investigated by UK communications watchdog Ofcom despite more than 300 people complaining about it.

A total of 317 people complained about the act which featured the US star in a skimpy outfit made of shells and flesh-coloured underwear.

peaking after the performance on the Sunday night results show on October 27, an ITV spokeswoman said the broadcaster did “not believe Lady Gaga’s performance was inappropriate for the family audience of 'The X Factor' results show”.

Ofcom also received 122 complaints about Robin Thicke’s performance of his controversial hit 'Blurred Lines' on the show a week earlier, but again decided not to take action.

spokesman for the watchdog said: “We assessed the complaints and concluded there were no grounds to investigate.”

It is not the first time the hit ITV show has run into trouble.

The 2010 final, which featured Christina Aguilera and her backing dancers in a racy routine, was described as being ”at the very margin of acceptability” by Ofcom.

A report said the ”sexualised” pre-watershed scenes sparked 2,868 complaints to the media regulator after Aguilera donned a short black dress while her female dancers, who were bent over chairs, wore suspenders, bra tops, fishnet stockings and basques in the raunchy routine.

Lady Gaga Bares All For Candy Magazine Cover Shoot

In the latest issue of Candy magazine, the controversial popstar bares all in a full-frontal shoot that leaves nothing to the imagination.The 27-year-old dons an androgynous style for the 'transversal style magazine', which usually features its cover stars in drag.

The Paparazzi hitmaker is clad in just a fur coat, which covers little more than one breast, with the other on full display, covered only by a scorpion nipple ornament.

Draped open in the crotch region, the singer exposes a rather full bush, while she holds herself around the waist with her fur-clad arm as the other hand rests over her head. The star wears a Charlie Chaplin-style black bowler hat and has quirky mismatched black eyebrows painted on, along with a pointy moustache and black lipstick that is drawn out to the sides in an eerie clown-like smile.

The singer is actually one of a two-part cover series for the magazine, the second of which features Marilyn Manson in a dress:

A beauty spot beneath one eye completes the look, while the singer's own extensive tattoo collection is clearly visible on her ribs and arm.

Goth rocker Marilyn Manson also appears on an alternate cover, clad in a frilly white lace dress as he sits, head in hands, on a bed.

The cover is rather timely, as the superstar has just announced the dates for her next tour.

The Applause hitmaker's 25-date artRave: The ARTPOP Ball tour will kick off on May 4 next year at the BB&T Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in support of her album. 

The star will visit the likes of Atlanta, New York, Philadelphia, Las Vegas and Los Angeles, with dates in Toronto and Vancouver, Canada.

YouTube Music Awards: Lady Gaga Gives 'Weird' Performance At Chaotic Ceremony- Video

The first YouTube Music Awards has been slated for descending into chaos.

Despite 60 million people voting for who they thought should win, a peak of just 215,000 people tuned in to the live-streamed show, according to the LA Times.

When Lady Gaga gave a tearful performance of her new song "Dope" – attacked by the newspaper for being "deeply strange and out-of-tune" – more than 4,000 viewers left the stream.

The singer arrived at the ceremony in New York wearing a set of false, decaying teeth, dark sunglasses and her trademark platform boots.

But Gaga lost out to South Korean band Girls Generation in the Video of the Year category.

The aim of the show, which boasted Spike Jonze as creative director, was to recreate the spontaneous and carefree spirit of the videos people post online.

But Variety said the ceremony "wasn't broadcast-quality in any sense", adding: "It was marred by video and sound snafus and the show's hosts looked adrift as they tried to wing it without scripts."

The MTV VMAs needn't worry, it seems, as "nothing very interesting happened".

Actor Jason Schwartzman, who hosted the show with Reggie Watts, said: "I cannot reiterate how we had no idea what was going to happen, ever. All we had on the cards were the next award."

Among the winners was Eminem, who took home Artist of the Year. Taylor Swift won YouTube phenomenon for her "I Knew You Were Trouble" track, while Macklemore and Ryan Lewis nabbed YouTube breakthrough.

Lady Gaga stepped out in mish-mash of styles today, mixing fifties chic with a provocative twist.

The singer sported a green tinted beehive to compliment her thick-rimmed spectacles, looking as though she'd raided the wardrobe department of 1978 film Grease; not to mention the fur jacket, reminiscent of the Pink Ladies. 

In contrast to the retro vibe, the Bad Romance star opted for some questionable mint green skyscraper boots that wouldn't have looked out of place dancing on tables in Soho.

Lady Gaga Kicks In iTunes Festival With Set of All New Music Albums

Lady Gaga has opens the 2013 iTunes festival with a 60-minute set watched by Adele, One Direction’s Niall Horan and more.

The Camden gig marked the chanteuse’s live return following a broken hip which forced her to cut short her Born This Way Ball tour earlier in the year.

‘To say that I’ve missed you, it’s a bit of an understatement,’ she told her adoring fans, who came in a dress code she set for the show on Twitter: ‘bedazzled pig snouts’ and ‘trash bags or artclothes’.

Adele and Horan were in attendance at the Roundhouse, along with former Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips.

Gaga played entirely new material, encompassing the tracks Aura, Jewels & Drugs, Sex Dreams and rounding off with new single Applause.

It appeared some fans were hoping to hear the classics however, with the BBC reporting that one crowd member shouted ‘just play Poker Face’ in between tracks.

The 27-year-old took her costume changes on stage during the show and also gave fans a glimpse of her real hair.

She explained: ‘When I didn’t feel strong enough to be me, I created someone else. And it worked.

‘So here I am, the human underneath the wigs.’

Gaga removed her headpiece to reveal a matted brunette bob,’ adding: ‘This is my real hair.’

Other acts yet to take the stage at this year’s iTunes festival include Vampire Weekend, Phoenix and Arctic Monkeys.

The superstar showed off a mermaid-style seashell bikini during her performance at the MTV VMAs — but she’s keeping the theme going. Gaga was spotted rocking an under-the-sea version of her iconic hair bow at her hotel in London on Aug. 27.

Lady Gaga Gets Naked As Usual For V Magazine Fall 2013 Issue - Pics

Just in time to Promote her new album, artpop (Which comes out in September), Lady Gaga Appears on not one, but four covers for V Magazine's Fall 2013 issue.

As usual, the covers and the publishing photos are provocative. In the first look, Gaga clutches her naked left breast and is scantily clad in a red sequined blazer and an unbuttoned pair of jeans. Within the issue, the singer Essentially bars all in the photographs by Inez & Vinoodh and in the interview (Which Also features artist Marina Abramovic).

As usual with lady Gaga, the effect was polarizing. "Very striking and I like the darker hair," Melly5525 said of the first cover.

"I do not know, I'm not a great follower of Lady Gaga, so for me, she always Seems to be taking her clothes off while she's denying they got something different to say, and the whole package adds up recycled to one long yawn. "

As the covers continued to emerge, opinions started to veer more Toward the positive. "The second and third covers are a HUGE improvement on the first cover. She suits being a blonde, "commented rougevalentino.

Lady Gaga strips down to … well, absolutely nothing in this latest NSFW video. The “Born This Way” singer took a brief hiatus after undergoing hip surgery, but in true Gaga fashion, the eccentric singer is back doing what she does best — dropping jaws and dropping trou.

The video shows Mama Monster — sometimes in the buff, sometimes not — letting out a few excessively long, guttural notes while bending over in a forest; standing in a lake with two yellow spikes covering her eyes; and — our favorite — cuddling up to a giant crystal while totally naked.

We’re not sure exactly what the take-away is, but hey — we’re always game for more Gaga!

Lady Gaga Raises Funds For The Marina Abramovic Institute

The Kickstarter campaign has already raised more than $220,000 from over 1,000 backers — and we’re sure many more of Lady Gaga’s little monsters will contribute once they see this video.

Lady Gaga has long been a fan of performance artist Marina Abramovic, who collaborated with the fame monster on her upcoming album, ARTPOP.

“I’m obsessed with this woman,” Gaga says of Marina in a 2010 interview. “She is so incredible.”
