Amit Mehra: Pran Was Looking Forward To See 'Zanjeer' Remake!

Legendary actor Pran was keen to see the remake version of 'Zanjeer', the film in which he left a mark with his impressive performance, producer Amit Mehra said today.

Pran played the iconic role of 'Sher Khan' in the 1973 blockbuster, directed and produced by Prakash Mehra, Amit's father. That role has been essayed by Sanjay Dutt in the remake version, directed by Apoorva Lakhia.

'Zanjeer' marked the arrival of Amitabh Bachchan as the 'angry young man'. It also epitomised the coming of age of a new trend where ageing villains like Pran went versatile and took up strong character roles to hold on to their territory.

The new version, produced by Amit, will see Telugu filmstar Ram Charan, son of actor-politician Chiranjeevi, stepping into Big B's shoes, while Priyanka Chopra will reprise the role of Jaya Bachchan.

"I had spoken to Pranji about 'Zanjeer' remake...He was happy about it. He gave us his blessings. He was happy that Sanjay Dutt was playing his part in the film. He was looking forward to see the film," Amit said.

The producer said he was in constant touch with Pran's family and kept him updated about the film and also checked upon his health.

The Dadasaheb Phalke awardee passed away at Lilavati Hospital in Bandra last night after a prolonged illness.

Expressing grief over the demise of the 93-year-old actor, Amit said, "It is a sad day for all of us. It is shocking. He was one of the finest actors we had in the industry.

Shortcut Romeo Song Khali Salam Dua : Neil Nitin Mukesh and Puja Gupta Get Cozy

The soothing number features the lovey-dovey couple having a mushy African safari...

In Khali salam dua from Susi Ganeshan’s Shortcut Romeo, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Puja Gupta can’t get enough of each other holidaying in the famous Masaai Mara National Park in Kenya. The couple is seen making the most of this adventurous trip as they shake a leg with the tribals sporting the traditional red outfit and enjoying the hot air balloon ride. We hear the safari was so interesting that the director used the entire hunting expedition and incorporated it in the film.

The track is indeed a melodious composition by Himesh Reshammiya and is sung well by the super talented Mohit Chauhan. Must say, it’s been quite some time since we heard a soft romantic number. Kudos to Himesh! While Neil plays a thug in this delayed project, Puja is his love interest, raising temperatures with her sexy outfits. Ameesha Patel will also be seen in a negative role and her character seems quite a mystery.

Take a look at the song for its brilliant visuals besides Neil and Puja’s appealing chemistry. Quite hummable!

Tumse mil ke maine jaana

Ishq kya mohabbat kya

Bhool baitha sab kuchh main to

Din kya, raat kya.. chaahat mein..

Khali salam dua mulakat mein

Chehre ki rangat badal rahi hai teri sohbat mein…

Khaali salaam dua mulaakaat mein

Chehare ki rangat badal rahi hai teri sohbat mein

lyrics of sahilsaini.in

Yeh tune kya kiya..

Yeh tune kya kiya..

Khali Salam Dua

Dooba main dil ki jannat mein

Khali salam duaa mulakat mein

Chehre ki rangat badal rahi hai teri sohbat mein…

Jo khaalipan tha

Jo soona man tha

Woh khil utha hai jaane khuda

Badal raha hai har ek mausam

Bechain dil ka jaane khuda

Jaane khuda.. jaane khuda..

Khali salam dua mulakat mein

Chehare ki rangat badal rahi hai teri sohbat mein…
