Anupam Kher And Ajay Devgan To Come Together in Singham 2

After Kareena Kapoor and Amole Gupte, there is yet another interesting addition to the cast of Rohit Shetty’s Singham 2.

The makers have confirmed that Anupam Kher will share screen space with Devgn in the much-anticipated sequel.

Ajay and Kher had last worked together in Main Aisa Hi Hoon.

Speaking on this development, a member from the sets says,"Yes, it’s after a hiatus of 8 years that Ajay Devgn and Anupam Kher will be sharing screen space. Ajay Devgn has been in the industry for close to 20 years and Anupam Kher has been here since the 80's. But these two brilliant actors who have been around for a long time have got the opportunity to work together only once-So Singham 2 is surely going to be the film to watch out for this year".

Singham 2 is one of the biggest films of 2014 and is expected to open in the second half of the year.

Hrithik Roshan May Romance Deepika Padukone Instead Kareena Kapoor in Shuddhi

 Indiatimes Is the first to tell about Karan Johar's attempts to reunite Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor on screen 12 years after 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham'. He had managed to pull off the seemingly impossible task and signing the two for Karan Malhotra's 'Shuddhi'.

But, a year on, there are rumours that KJo is now in talks with Deepika Padukone for the same film.

Though Kareena maintains that she is doing the film, the buzz is that after the box-office debacle of 'Gori Tere Pyaar Mein', the filmmaker is thinking of a opting for a more saleable Deepika.

Seems Kareena is also not keen on giving bulk dates for 'Shuddhi'. That is the reason she had earlier opted out of 'Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram Leela' and had been replaced with Deepika. A source close to the project have confirmed that Deepika had been contacted by KJo.

"It's true, she has been approached. However, she still needs to read the script and take a decision."

If Deepika takes up the offer, it will be the biggest replacement of the season as the pairing of Hrithik and Kareena was the main talking point of the film.

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor was seen on a late night date with his rumoured girlfriend and co-star Katrina Kaif and cousin Kareena Kapoor on Sunday (November 10) at director Karan Johar's party. 

The rumoured couple has never accepted their relationship in public, but the two are spotted together almost eveywhere. They were last seen at the Bachchans Diwali bash last week. 

One of Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif's midnight rendezvous hit a roadblock on Saturday.

The star apparently took the driver's seat to pick up his ladylove from a preview theatre in Santa Cruz. 

Kat, along with several other Bollywood folk, was watching a private screening of the recent Hollywood film, Captain Phillips. After the movie was over, RK reached the spot along with friend Ayan Mukerji, but when the duo noticed that there are some photographers present at the venue, they took a hurried U turn and made a quick exit from the theatre. Minutes later Katrina left the place in her own car. 

Says a source, "It was well past midnight when Ranbir arrived at the preview theatre. He did not step in. He had apparently arrived to pick up Katrina. Probably RK, Kat and Ayan had some late night dinner plans. But when they realised they might get caught on camera, Ranbir decided to drive away." 

Adds the source, "He was spotted when the screening was almost complete and when people were stepping out. It was obvious that he had not come to watch the film, but only to pick up Katrina." 

Director Kabir Khan and his wife Mini Mathur, Arjun Kapoor, Vidyut Jamwal and choreographer Bosco Martis were also present at the screening. The special viewing of the action thriller starring Tom Hanks was organised for these select few. The buzz is that Kabir Khan is planning a project on its lines. 

Of late, Ranbir has been driving around Kat late at night quite often. Looks like he loves being Kat's chauffeur with her car tailing RK's vehicle.

Kareena Kapoor React On Mumbai Gang-Rape - We need To Reassess Things

In the backdrop of the Mumbai gang-rape case, actress Kareena Kapoor feels that it’s time to reassess things and bring in stricter laws to ensure women safety in India.

"It’s difficult to be secure in India. It is not safe. I think we need to change our laws, we need to reassess things.

Because the youth of the country is in anger... I am hoping through them we will be able to reassess laws of this nation," Kareena said.

"These unfortunate incidents used to happen in small places.. And now in Mumbai. Rapes are happening all over the country..There are places where things are not getting reported... May be I feel it is because of lack of education," she said.

"My sister has a six year old daughter so we want her to be safe when she grows up. And I am hoping that when she grows up there will be some kind of change in the society at least by then she would be 16," she added.

The 32-year-old actor feels media has a responsibility to disseminate information and at the same time highlight the guilty but "cinema cannot provide a solution to any problem in general."

"Cinema is not meant to do something, the government must do something. We are actors we are not politicians. It is a bonus if there is an inspirational feeling among people after watching a film. But ultimately its a film so it is meant to entertain people," she said.

On August 22, a 23-year-old photo journalist was gang-raped by five men in the desolate Shakti Mills Compund in Lower Parel here when she went there on an assignment alongwith her male colleague.

Trust Karan Johar to do the unimaginable! Ever since the Student Of The Year director announced a few months ago that he would be directing a period drama next, there have been all kinds of stories doing the rounds regarding his ambitious movie’s star cast.

First there was news of Ranbir Kapoor sharing screen space with KJo’s best buddy Shahrukh Khan. Then there was the story that Ranboo might team up with his cousin Kareena Kapoor and the duo might play brother and sister in the film. But that’s all in the past now. We just heard that Karan has managed a casting coup!

The director-producer-designer-now actor had already roped in his favourite honey-eyed star to play the lead in his new home production Shuddhi almost four months ago, but was still unsure about the female lead. Now the Dharma Productions’ head honcho has proudly declared his leading lady to be Kareena – another favourite of Karan’s – who’ll romance Hrithik in an intense love story to be directed by Karan Malhotra. Johar feels Bebo and Duggu together will bring in the required amount of energy that his director has envisioned.

“I spoke to Hrithik and Kareena and they were happy to be on board. The film is an intense love story and because it has a reincarnation theme, Karan has written a script that is dramatic and outstanding. To me, it is really an important casting,” said the proud filmmaker, talking to a newspaper.

The film will go on the floors by the end of this year and will release during Diwali 2014. There’s no denying that it will be a treat to watch the two supremely good-looking actors sharing screen space after a decade, but we wonder if Bebo and Duggu will be able to create magic.

After all, they failed to do so in previous films like Yaadein, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon. This time, the time and distance could make them really convincing as two people finding a long-lost love. What do you think?

Kareena Kapoor: Homemade Food Keeps Me Healthy!

Kareena, who was size zero five years back, begins her day with a banana milk shake followed by a cup of coffee.

Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor says rather than surviving on salads and juices, she eats simple Indian food to stay fit and healthy.

"I eat only simple Indian home food – sabzi, roti, dal, chawal, ghee. There are so many benefits of having ghee. My grandmother is 84 and she is still fit and looks beautiful," Kareena told reporters here last evening.

"One should eat everything especially healthy and not junk food. I don't like the idea of starving. I would eat and burn it out in gym. The amount of intake is what matters," she said.

Kareena, who was size zero five years back, begins her day with a banana milk shake followed by a cup of coffee.

"I don't know where this term of size zero came from, people called it that way (size zero). I became thin for Tashan. And that is because of Rujuta, I followed her instructions," she said.

The 32-year-old actress is a part of a nutrition documentary DVD film Indian Food Wisdom and The Art of Eating Right, by famous celebrity nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar.

Kareena reveals that she is a vegetarian. Her husband actor Saif Ali Khan, who is also part of this DVD, likes to eat meat but rarely.

"Nawabi food is rich in meat so I opt for dal or paneer while Saif eats mutton. I don't eat meat," she adds.

Kareena feels older actresses like Madhubala and others were beautiful because they ate simple food.

'Satyagrah' Will Influence The Youth; Says Kareena Kapoor!

Prakash Jha-directed 'Satyagrah' depicts the common man's reaction to the sorry state of affairs and shows their angst and disappointment with the system, said the actors featuring in the upcoming film

The film, which will hit the theatres in August, stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgan, Manoj Bajpayee, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Amrita Rao. "We are living in an India where I think we deserve a better standard of living. 

I think Satyagrah is the ideal way for common man to show their angst and disappointment," Amrita told reporters here at the first trailer launch of the film. 

Amrita plays daughter-in-law of Big B. "A revolution...a movement happens in every part of the world when people are disappointed with the state of affair in their country," Manoj said. 

"It (satyagrah - a Gandhian method of agitation) is a peaceful way of revolution," Ajay said. Bachchan plays a man who is a firm believer in truth. He is like a new age Gandhi. "It (satyagrah) was started in Ireland several years ago. 

I believe truth always prevails," Big B said. Manoj plays a young politician who uses every means to break the system. He is the real threat to democracy. Ajay, a successful entrepreneur, represents shining India, while Kareena dons the role of a firebrand TV reporter.

"I am sure the film will influence the youth. I had great time doing the film," Kareena said. The film's promo gave the feel that 'Satyagrah' is inspired by the 2011 Anna Hazare movement. 

But Jha said film had nothing to do with Hazare and its about father-son relation. The trailer was launched globally. Ajay and Kareena were in London, while the rest of the team was present in Mumbai.

The First Official Teaser Of ‘Satyagraha’ That Demands A Change!

The first teaser trailer of Prakash Jha’s upcoming movie ‘Satyagraha – Democracy Under Fire’ has been released by UTV Motion Pictures.

The teaser in itself is enough to give viewers an insight into the powerful script and storyline. It starts with Kareena Kapoor – who will be playing an international journalist in the movie – giving a voiceover in the background and then continues to a slightly tweaked version of ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’.

All the main characters in the movie – Amitabh Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Amrita Rao and Ajay Devgn – can be seen protesting against the corrupt system in the teaser.

The scenes show police attacking the public for protesting, which in turn gives rise to a stronger protest from the common man.

It ends with a powerful and anger-driven one-liner by Ajay Devgn “Ab sirf ek action hoga, public ka direct action.”

The political thriller – directed by Prakash Jha - reflects the uprising of the middle class against a corrupt and unjust system that leaves it with no option other than to challenge the prevailing system.

A dynamic and ambitious young man joins hands with an idealistic old man and he ignites a protest that soon turns into a massive movement to fight against the unjust system.

The movie if slated to release on August 15, 2013.

Aamir Khan Gets Rs. 88 Crore For Endorsement Deal!

Bollywood superstar signs the most eye-popping annual advertising deal the industry has ever seen...

In the game of one-upmanship among Bollywood actors, there is a constant struggle to raise the bar when it comes to charging a big, fat fee for films and even their television ad endorsements.

And looks like Aamir Khan has stolen a big march over the rest of the industry as buzz is that the star has charged R 88 crore for signing up for an endorsement deal. Sources claim that the deal, which is for a year, involves the star to shoot for a series of ads -- two of which are already out. Aamir will apparently be paid the amount over a period of time.

An insider says, `After Aamir ended his contract for his previous commercial brand endorsements during the shoot of his TV show with a social message, this is the first ad he has done for a commercial brand. 

He is careful about choosing endorsements and when the company offered him the deal, he took his own time to sign it. After the initial talks, he quoted a huge amount of Rs 88 crore.`

While these days stars are known to earn quite a massive part of their fortune from brand ads, Aamir's fee leaves the rest of the B-Town brigade far behind. 

The source adds, `Aamir's fee appears to be mindboggling but the brand wanted to shoot a series of ads with him. They were looking forward to a change in their strategy and hence agreed to rope in Aamir even at such a high cost. They are eagerly waiting to see if the sales figures have shown growth after the actor came on board.`

While Aamir's spokesperson refused to comment, the brand representative remained unavailable.

The Golmaal 3 actor, who has produced his son Mahaakshay’s upcoming film, faces the wrath of the Censor Board over the lyrics of a song that mentions the names of these B-town babes without their consent...

The Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has taken strong offence to a song from the Mahaakshay Chakraborty-Sunil Shetty-Kay Kay Menon starrer Enemmy for its objectionable lyrics: “Dil pe kadam jo main rakh dun… Katrina ko, Kareena ko, Bipasha ko, Priyanka ko, Madonna ko, Shakira ko, pani kum chai kar dun.” The CBFC has asked the makers – producers Mithun Chakraborty and Yogeeta Bali and director Ashu Trikha to get a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from all the actors mentioned in the song before it can approve it.

Reportedly, Ashu feels he has done nothing wrong and the song doesn’t put anybody in a bad light. We agree that there have been songs in the past like Munni badnaam hui that mentioned Amitabh Bachchan and Saif Ali Khan as Saifu and Lambu and even Govinda’s yesteryear songs like Madhuri Dixit mili raste mein khaye chane humne saste mein or the Hero no 1 track Gori tere naino mein hum bas jaate which named Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Rajesh Khanna, Dimple Kapadia among several other respected veteran actors of Bollywood.

But as far as this Enemmy number is concerned, the lyrics ‘pani kum chai kar dun’ is what apparently hasn’t gone down too well with the Censor Board. And after this entire hullabaloo, our khabroo informs us that the track has been removed from the DVD.

Kareena-Saif Heading For a Family Reunion

Hubby Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan were spotted at the Mumbai Airport along with sis Soha Ali Khan and beau Kunal Khemu, giving rise to Speculation that the power couple of Bollywood are squeezing some time off from their busy schedules for a family reunion.
