The 'Glee' star remembered her late boyfriend's talent and kindness as she thanked their fans for the overwhelming support she has received since his death last month.
Fighting back tears, voice quivering and wearing her "Cory" necklace, the 26-year-old accepted her award for Choice TV Actress: Comedy with an emotional tribute to her lost love, who died a month ago from a lethal mix of heroin and alcohol. Watch the moving moment in full above.
Tears welled up in the star's eyes as she dedicated her Teen Choice Award to her late boyfriend and costar Cory Monteith in Sunday night's most emotional speech.
"I wanted to dedicate this award to Cory, for all you out there that loved and admired Cory as much as I did," she said. "I promise that with your love, we're going to get through this together."
"He was very special to me, and also to the world, and we were very lucky to witness his incredible talent, his handsome smile and his beautiful, beautiful heart."
Behind Lea for moral support were co-stars Jenna Ushkowitz, Amber Riley and Kevin McHale. A few minutes earlier, most of the Glee cast accepted their award for Choice TV Show: Comedy, without Lea. The cast dedicated their award to Cory, with Amber saying that Cory "was like a brother to us and like a dad".
Lea and her co-stars started filming season five of Glee last week.
