Over the last few months, the Pancholis have been in the news for multiple reasons. But the family might choose to keep its silence now on. We have come to know that Salman Khan has asked the Pancholis to refrain from saying much about Sooraj and his debut venture.
Sooraj and his dad Aditya met Salman on the sets of his next film, Mental, in Hyderabad on July 5. “Salman feels too much is said about Sooraj and his debut film (a remake of the 1983 hit Hero, which Salman will co-produce with filmmaker Subhash Ghai). So he has asked Aditya and his family to avoid talking too much about it,” says an insider close to the development.
Sooraj spent around 21 days in jail while he was being tried in actor Jiah Khan’s suicide case. The aspiring actor was released on July 2.
“During this meeting, Salman assured them of assistance. In fact, he has asked Sooraj to start preparing for his Bollywood debut. Once the Mental schedule ends (on July15-16), he is likely to officially announce the Hero remake,” adds the insider.
At the moment, even as Aditya continues to shoot in Hyderabad for Mental, his 22-year-old son has flown back to Mumbai as he has to mark his attendance at the Juhu police station. As per the High Court orders, he is supposed to report to the police station on alternate days by 5 pm. “Sooraj has started working on his big Bollywood break. He knows it’s a huge opportunity, especially with Salman backing him,” adds the insider.
When contacted, Aditya, who is in Hyderabad, says, “I can’t say anything (about the meeting with Salman or Sooraj’s debut venture). It’s not like Salman bhai has barred us from speaking, but he has said, ‘Ab main bolunga (now I will talk)’. So we would rather keep quiet.”
A few days ago, Sooraj’s mother Zarina Wahab too told HT CafĂ© to “let Salman take the final call (about the debut film)”.
