Jonas Brothers Split Up: 'It's Over For Now'

The brothers and bandmates end speculation brought on by their cancelled tour, saying they are "closing a chapter" in their lives.

Pop rock group Jonas Brothers have ended speculation about their future, telling fans: "It's over for now."

The band - Nick, 21, Joe, 24, and Kevin, 25 - have been together since 2005 and gained worldwide popularity when they appeared in Disney film Camp Rock.

Rumours of a separation surfaced earlier this month when the band announced they were cancelling their tour because of a "deep rift" within the group.

They previously told fans: "Please hold while we get our **** together."

However, in an interview with People magazine, Kevin said: "It's over for now."

Joe described the split as a "unanimous decision", while Nick added: "It's really hard to say (it's) forever. We're closing a chapter, for sure."

Jonas Brothers have sold more than eight million albums worldwide and were nominated for best new artist at the 2008 Grammy Awards.

They won 14 Teen Choice Awards and scooped the breakthrough prize at the American Music Awards in 2008.

The band's third and fourth studio albums - A Little Bit Longer and Lines, Vines and Trying Times respectively - both reached number one on the US Billboard chart and were top 20 hits in the UK.

Their 2007 track SOS was their most successful UK single, reaching number 13 in the charts.

“First Time” is a much smoother, slower song than “Pom Poms.” The boys get a bit more emotional with this song, as they sing about letting your heart control your mind and make it “feel like the first time.” (What exactly they are talking about we’ll leave up to interpretation.)

The brothers also sing about living in the moment and toasting to the “good life.”

The song also features vocals of all three brothers amidst guitar, drums, and electronic components. Talk about mixing it up!

The Brothers’ First Independent Album

The brothers’ contract with Hollywood Records ended in 2012, so they’ll be releasing this album under their own label, Jonas Enterprises.

According to the group’s Twitter account, the brothers will be performing new music at the Miss USA competition June 16, which Nick will also be hosting!

We can’t wait to see the other songs from the boys’ new album. They are giving a great variety of songs off the new album; they sure have grown up since their “Burnin’ Up” and “S.O.S.” days!
