X Factor winner Sam Bailey has scored a Christmas No.1, hitting the UK singles top spot with her cover version of Demi Lovato's US hit, 'Skyscraper'.
The 36-year-old mum of two and former prison officer has beaten off competition from the likes of Leon Lewis, Pharrell Williams and AC/DC to claim the top spot, with all proceeds from the single split between Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity and Together For Short Lives. Chancellor George Osborne has also agreed to waive VAT on the release. "Being Number 1 is absolutely amazing!" Sam told OfficialCharts.com. "It really is the icing on the cake and it means Great Ormond Street Children's Charity and Together For Short Lives will benefit from the single which makes it extra special." Martin Talbot, Chief Executive of the Official Charts Company added: "Congratulations to Sam Bailey, the UK's Official 2013 Christmas Number 1! X Factor winner one weekend, Christmas Number 1 the next. Life can't get much better than that, especially when you have taken the crown with one of the biggest weekly sales totals of the year."

Pharrell comes in at No.2 with his amazing single 'Happy', while Leona Lewis finds herself at No.3 with 'One More Sleep' and a Facebook campaign has seen AC/DC land at No.4 with 'Highway to Hell'. Avicii completes the top five with 'Hey Brother'.
Elsewhere in the album charts, Robbie Williams is at No.1 with Swings Both Ways, One Direction are at No.2 with Midnight Memories, Gary Barlow comes in at No.3 with Since I Saw You Last and Olly Murs is at No.4 with Right Place Right Time. Beyonce completes the top five with her surprise self-titled fifth album.

And then there were six! The X Factor said goodbye to two more acts on the Nov. 28 episode of the Fox hit competition show, making this a less-than-happy Thanksgiving for two contestants. Following a powerful performance by Demi Lovato, this season’s final six acts were officially revealed.
Josh Levi & Lillie McCloud Eliminated From ‘The X Factor’
Yes, you read that right. After a nail-biting sing-off between Josh Levi and fellow last-placer Rion Paige – which ended in a tie, as if things couldn’t get any more dramatic — America chose to send Josh home. Earlier in the night votes made it aware to all that Lillie McCloud was also on the chopping block. Two great contestants who left to early, but that is definitely the nature of the beast!
It seems his last-ditch performance of Bruno Mars‘ “When I Was Your Man” just couldn’t compete with Rion’s rendition of Pink‘s “Perfect.”
Adding to the tragedy, HollywoodLife.com spoke with Josh on Nov. 27, and he told us it would be “the best Thanksgiving ever” if Simon Cowell pardoned all eight contestants for the holiday.
Sadly, especially for Josh & Lillie, Simon wasn’t so generous.
Demi Lovato Performs ‘Neon Lights’
Fortunately, the episode wasn’t totally dominated by tears and goodbyes. The bright spot of the night came from Demi Lovato, whose performance of her new single proved she has the “X factor” herself.
Dressed in a sexy-yet-classy ensemble, the judge took the stage for a killer live performance of “Neon Lights.”
Demi Lovato flashed a hint of cleavage as she posed for photographs at the Frozen premiere in Los Angeles last night.
The singer's blue hair matched the background, as she teamed her latest 'do with a black dress and black heels.
Demi looked confident as she posed for photographs as paparazzi snapped away.
Meanwhile, Demi recently spoke out about fellow female star Miley Cyrus and her constant eccentric behaviour, with the Skyscraper singer saying that Miley "knows exactly what she's doing."
The former Hannah Montana star first caused controversy with her performance with Robin Thicke at the MTV VMA's earlier this year. Since then the star has continued to raise eyebrows, including, lighting up a suspicious looking cigarette whilst appearing on the stage at the MTV EMAs in Amsterdam earlier this month.
Believing that Miley is just having fun, Demi told Katie Couric on her talk show: "I think she knows what she's doing."
Insisting that Miley is just growing up - albeit in the public eye - and trying to move away from her Disney show image, Demi - who also appeared on the Disney Channel in TV show, Sonny With A Chance - continued to comment: "I think that the world kind of needs to get over the fact that she was Hannah Montana when she was like 16 or whatever…Same thing with me, but I guess my transition was a little different because I went straight to rehab, but—I didn't twerk, I just went to rehab.
"It's something that is just—nobody knows her, and nobody knows who I am, and same with Selena Gomez and Jonas Brothers and everybody that's grown up in front of the public eye. We're adults now…I'm 21 and I'm nowhere near the same person that I was when I was 15…so go a little easy on us, America."
Demi Lovato may be the latest victim of a nude photo leak, according to one website that claims they've gotten their hands on several x-rated shots of the X Factor judge!
Multiple racy pics of Demi Lovato are reportedly being shopped around, a news outlet claims. The images, which the news outlet has allegedly been offered, show a dark-haired woman, who looks identical to the Made In The USA singer, in compromising positions, including nude in a bath tub and lying topless in bed.
Demi Lovato Nude Photos — Naked Pics Of Disney Star Being Shopped Around
The woman in the photos has the same tattoos as Demi, including 12 black birds on her right forearm, Radar Online reports.
“These are Demi. The collection I have show some nude, including face, some including parts of the body Demi is known for — tattoos, butt, chin. Then, I have pictures of her getting rowdy… I can guarantee you these photos are legitimately of Demi,” the provider of the photos told the site.
Demi Lovato Naked Photo Scandal — Will They Be Published?
If these photos were released, Fox would have an unfortunate situation on their hands. Not only is Demi, 20, one of the network’s most coveted judges on The X Factor, but the former Disney star recently signed on to star in multiple episodes of Glee in season five. And unfortunately for Demi, these photos don’t sound very kid-friendly.
It’s unclear how these photos were obtained, whether they were leaked or if Demi is the victim of a cyber hacker, but for Demi’s sake, we hope they’re never released.
South Korean rapper Psy hosted in style, Drake dropped by for an unannounced visit and soon-to-be-wed Canadian music power couple Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger took a bow at the MuchMusic Video Awards on Sunday.
Flanked by eight white-clad dancers, Psy — who was also acting as the show’s co-host — opened the festivities with his galloping viral smash Gangnam Style wearing a white sequined tuxedo vest and round-rimmed sunglasses as he went through the familiar paces of the international hit.
“Let me see you bounce, Canada!” he implored, later scolding the crowd for staring into their smartphones: “Stop taking pictures and bounce!”
Psy then won the viral video of the year award for Gangnam Style — surely one of the evening’s least-contested categories, given that the video racked up more than 1.65 billion YouTube views.
Meanwhile, Lavigne sent a buzz through the crowd when she walked the red carpet with Nickelback’s Kroeger. The soon-to-be-wed punk princess wore a black-leather crown covered in metal spikes atop her head, and the couple was mutually clad head-to-toe in black.
It wasn’t long before she’d claimed her first award, for international video of the year by a Canadian.
“Hi everybody. Happy Father’s Day,” said Lavigne, who later performed her aptly titled pop hit Here’s to Never Growing Up while dancers waved smoking flares.
“My dad’s here today. So of course, I want to say thank you to my dad for supporting me throughout the years. And of course, all the fans.”
Grammy-winning Toronto rapper Drake was the evening’s big surprise guest, strolling onstage unannounced to give a brief speech after winning hip hop video of the year for his origin-story boast Started From the Bottom (which also brought home the award for director of the year).
“Obviously I want to thank the city of Toronto first and foremost,” he said. “It’s great to be home.”
And former Disney star Demi Lovato was among the non-homegrown winners in claiming international video of the year, which the “X-Factor” judge grabbed after navigating the stage’s steps gingerly in her skyscraper heels.
“It’s so heavy — it’s SO heavy,” said Lovato, who later performed a high-energy medley of Heart Attack and Give Your Heart a Break, indeed displaying reality show-worthy vocal acrobatics. “This is amazing!”
Although the show lacked a headline-hoarding signature surprise moment — such as when Lady Gaga set her bustier ablaze or when Lavigne herself decided to scrawl “MMVA” across her backside a full decade ago — Psy was, if nothing else, a game host.
The 35-year-old worried beforehand about his still-developing English but ably delivered some physical humour. After shouting “DJ, hit me, anything you want!” he launched into a furious dance routine set to Beyonce’s Single Ladies, unsmiling and un-self-conscious.
“If you liked that, you better put a ring on it,” he cracked afterward, finally relaxing into a broad grin.
He closed the show with a gyrating, pyro-packed performance of his new single “Gentleman,” while a gigantic inflatable Psy hovered in the background — stuck in a contemplative position, hand on chin, before eventually dancing as streamers rained down.
In other performances, husky-voiced howler Serena Ryder performed a medley of her primal hit Stompa and What I Wouldn’t Do, Classified rapped Inner Ninja with two risers full of swaying children joining him and Sheeran brought a touch of elegance, strumming his gentle “Lego House” on an acoustic guitar while clad in a Toronto Blue Jays T-shirt and suit jacket.
At the other end of the elegance spectrum, pop video of the year winners Marianas Trench performed Desperate Measures pantless, with “MMVA” scrawled across the backs of their tight white undies. They went on to win a second trophy, the fan-voted Your Fave video for Stutter.
Along with that Vancouver band, Classified was a rare double winner on the evening — including video of the year for his uplifting David Myles collaboration Inner Ninja — while Deadmau5 and conspicuously absent teen heart-throb Justin Bieber also nabbed awards.
The MMVAs are famous for inventive red-carpet arrivals, and while this year’s show was slightly more muted in that respect, there were still splashy entrances. YouTube comedy group Janoskians arrived in a school bus painted black with fangs scribbled on the fender, American Idol champ Phillip Phillips showed up in a vintage forest-green pickup truck (later delivering a slightly out-of-key take on his Home) and — again, not to be outdone — Marianas Trench cruised down the carpet in a trunk containing two dunk tanks, with each of the quartet’s members wearing leg-binding mermaid costumes (frontman Josh Ramsay and drummer Ian Casselman did indeed get sent under).
Fans camped out by Much’s downtown Toronto headquarters for days leading up to the show, and they were ready when it was here — wearing headbands proclaiming their love for such in-attendance heart-throbs as Austin Mahone and Brit crooner Sheeran.
“So passionate,” marvelled Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale at the fans shouting her name behind her.
Presenter Taylor Swift was similarly impressed, though she’d been in the city all weekend with two stadium show’s at the cavernous Rogers Centre — shows that were so well-attended they inspired a bit of gridlock.
“I know, I’m sorry about the traffic — I was caught in the same traffic,” said Swift, clad in a white-and-black minidress from Canadian designer Vawk, while interviewed on the red carpet.
Later, she won the fans’ choice “Your Fave” trophy for international artist. Swift, whose gobsmacked responses to winning awards have become Internet meme material, was thus in character as she lifted what she said was her first MMVA.
“This is amazing. Thank you so much,” she said. “I just want to thank MuchMusic for playing music videos, and for giving us a reason to put a visual element to the music. To the fans, I’ve had an amazing weekend with you — two sold-out shows. You’re the reason we keep coming back to Canada. So thank you so much for everything.” And the winners are … YOUR FAVE Video Marianas Trench – Stutter YOUR FAVE Artist or Group Justin Bieber YOUR FAVE International Artist or Group Taylor Swift Video Of The Year Classified f.
