Ex-boyfriend devastator and country-pop darling Taylor Swift is set to star in a film with David Beckham next year, weirdly.
Taylor’s first big screen role will be in Layer Cake director Matthew Vaughn’s latest effort, The Secret Service. The movie has already been described as a ‘21st century 007 movie’, and will see Colin Firth and Michael Caine face off against a villainous Samuel L. Jackson. David Beckham has been offered a cameo, along with Elton John and Adele – presumably for a murky, grimy end-of-movie sing-a-long which so many British thrillers are lacking.
Taylor is expected to start filming her role at the end of this year, with the film due for release in November 2014.
“Filming commences in October and will shoot mainly in London and the south of France,” a source told the Mirror. “Matthew looked at a number of actresses to play the part before settling on Taylor – apparently she was a natural on the big screen.
“She’s also someone fresh and unseen in Hollywood terms, which was massively appealing. She will be required to have some heavy-duty martial arts training in order that her character convincingly kick Samuel L. Jackson’s butt.”
And Victoria Beckham, get ready to break out your deathiest pout-and-stare. “She is also looking forward to working with David Beckham,” the source continued. “Whom she thinks is amazing-looking – but taken.” TROUBLE TROUBLE TROUBLE.
