Arjun Rampal has said that his new lead role in political drama Satyagraha developed from a small cameo.
The actor is once again working with Rajneeti and Chakravyuh director Prakash Jha in Satyagraha.
He told Press Trust of India: "[Prakash Jha] asked me if I do this part, as it is not ... a bigger role, but he needs this character. I told him even if you want me to say two lines in your film, I will surely do it.
"While writing the character, it became a full-fledged part. Jha realized this guy is going to be integral part of the screenplay. We need him as this is the character that influences. He is a youth leader who is ambitious.
"He is connected at grassroots level. He becomes the muscle power of this revolution. Prakash is a person who will deliver what he has promised. I don't have to worry about anything. One would like to work with directors who don't make you feel insecure at any point in time. "
Last year, Jha told Digital Spy that he loves making actors explore their roles before they start shooting.
He said: "My way of working with actors is very different [to other directors]. I work with them prior to going on set. I prepare them. I inform them. I encourage them to ask questions."
Rampal said last October that he wanted Chakravyuh to educate young people about terrorism.
