The 43-year-old Television host was cautioned by police after 27-year-old Jack Cockings made a 999 call.
The pair were allegedly involved in a dispute in their North London home when the row escalated- which led to Melanie assaulting Jack.
The sexy TV presenter was seen being led from her Hampstead home in handcuffs late last night after admitting to the offence, and is believed to have spent the night in custody.
A spokesperson from the Metropolitan police today issued a statement regarding the assault, saying: "Police were called at 9.45pm last night to a residential address in Hampstead following reports of an assault.
"A 43-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of common assault and taken to a North London police station. She has since been given a caution for common assault. The victim, a man, did not require hospital treatment."
Cougar Melanie, who recently showed off her age-defying curves in a revealing Ultimo campaign, has only been married to Jack for six months.
The oversexed pair raised many an eyebrow in the showbiz world after they met in 2012 over Twitter.
The couple were not shy about discussing their unconventional love, and outwardly flirted over the site– as well as sharing intimate details about their sex life.
